Privacy Policy

Mull does not collect any data.
Everything you enter into Mull (income, bills, spending, goals, the apps you choose to pause) is stored on your iPhone and, if you leave automatic backup on, in your own iCloud Drive (see Backups). Mull has no server, no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and Mull itself makes no network requests. We never receive your data.
Screen Time
If you allow it, Mull uses Apple's Screen Time API to show a pause screen before apps you choose and to record roughly how long you spend in them. This information is processed by iOS and stored in Mull's private container on your phone. It is never transmitted anywhere.
Mull can also show today's exact minutes in those apps inside a Screen Time report that iOS draws itself. Mull can't read or save those figures.
You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Screen Time, or by deleting Mull.
Face ID lock
If you turn on Require Face ID in More, iOS checks your face or your iPhone passcode. Mull only learns whether the check passed. It never sees or stores your face data or your passcode.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, Mull schedules them as notifications on your iPhone. A reminder may show how much you have left this month. How it appears on your Lock Screen follows your iPhone’s notification settings. Nothing is sent to a server.
Camera, photos and PDFs
When you import a receipt, a screenshot or a statement, Mull reads the text on your iPhone using Apple's built-in text recognition. Mull uses the camera only when you choose Take Photo. The image or PDF is not stored by Mull and never leaves your device; only the rows you approve are saved.
Siri and Shortcuts
If you log purchases with Siri, or set up a Shortcuts automation for Apple Pay, the amount and the store name are passed to Mull on your iPhone and saved like any other purchase. An Apple Pay automation may also pass the card’s name, such as “Apple Card”; Mull doesn’t store it. Mull never receives card numbers or bank login details.
Backups
Your iPhone’s own backup, to iCloud or a computer, may include a copy of Mull’s data, under Apple’s privacy terms. If you export a backup from Mull, that file is yours, and you decide where it goes.
Automatic backup to iCloud Drive. If iCloud Drive is on, Mull saves a copy of your Mull data, such as your income, bills, spending, categories and goals, to a “Mull” folder in your own iCloud Drive, so you can bring it back on a new phone or after reinstalling Mull. Apple stores and syncs this file in your Apple Account under Apple’s privacy terms; we have no access to it. Nothing from Screen Time (the apps you pause or your visits to the pause screen) is included; that stays on your iPhone. You can turn this off in Mull under More → Back up to iCloud Drive, and delete the file in the Files app.
Deleting your data
Deleting Mull deletes everything it stored on your iPhone. If automatic backup was on, the backup file stays in your iCloud Drive until you delete it in the Files app (iCloud Drive → Mull). We have no copy to delete, because we never receive your data.
Children
Mull is not directed at children under 13 and uses Screen Time only for the device owner.
